For the past two years, Bainbridge High School students have been able to take a break from technology in the Media Center before school on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Students sign up ahead of time using the app SignUpGenius which they can access through a QR code on the Media Center door.

From 7AM to 7:38 AM, students can participate in either arts and crafts, creative writing, cross stitch and crochet, or reading and studying. In the fall, the media center also offered gaming - Uno, Monopoly, Clue, Risk, Chess, etc, but we are now looking for a new teacher to lead that group for the 2025-26 school year.

Mrs. Kay Hutto leads the arts and crafts group. Their projects this year included Christmas glasses, Valentines vases, Snowman ornaments, and decorative graduation hats. Mrs. Medley is in charge of the Creative Writing group which was led this year in the mornings by senior Addie Justice. Mrs. Beasley and Ms. Montague taught students to crochet and cross stitch. This group is researching knitting hats for charity next year.

Studies show that creative pursuits that we commonly call "Granny Hobbies" reduce stress. In a world of micro attention spans, skills that require concentration and repetition help expand the ability to focus. Unplugged Adventures onTuesdays and Thursdays allows students to develop their creative talents with their hands instead of a keyboard.
