From the Director
The Bearcat Academic Center (BAC) is an innovative program developed as an alternative for students at risk for not completing high school. BAC serves 9th-12th grade students in the high school program. The high school BAC program provides students with a smaller, non-traditional learning environment. The high school curriculum is also based on GPS standards but taught mainly online with the Imagine Learning Edgenuity Computerized Program.
High school students must meet the same requirements for graduation as main campus students, including attending high school eight semesters. All students, especially those whose academic success and social well-being are threatened, and they need support in navigating their educational careers. BAC provides a safe environment for students to develop better decision making skills while gaining ground academically. The goal of BAC is to equip students with tools for success with: high school diplomas, work ethics, decision making skills, and interpersonal skills.
